Members of the Bainbridge Rotary Club met for their weekly meeting at the Kirbo Center on Tuesday afternoon. The guest speaker for the day was Krystal Apke with the Bainbridge Little Theatre.
Apke gave the audience an overview of what to expect for the Theatre’s upcoming season, with the current line-up consisting of: “May We All”, a country musical; “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”, a Christmas play; the comedy “The Red Velvet Cake War”; “Mary Poppins The Musical”; and another musical, “Anastasia The Musical: Youth Edition”. According to Apke, the youth production of “Anastasia” will have the same production schedule as an ordinary production, as opposed to the Theatre’s previous “summer camp” productions, which had a much shorter production schedule. The Theatre first attempted this with their recent performance of “Beauty and the Beast”. “So we will no longer be having a camp,” Apke said. “They have earned their spot, and so now we will just have a junior show in our regular season.”
Apke also discussed the Bainbridge Little Theatre’s mission, as well as the behind-the-scenes workings of the theatre. The Theatre has also begun offering a $500 scholarship for its younger performers and volunteers, as many local students participate in productions.
Following her speech, Apke took questions from the audience.
