Members of the Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday afternoon, though not for a new business this time. Rather, the event was for the renovation and revitalization of a familiar Bainbridge fixture, the Friendship House of Jesus. Chamber members were not the only ones present, with parents and kids filling the main sanctuary for the ceremony as well.
The renovations primarily consisted of installing new flooring and applying fresh paint. According to Jimmy Adamson, pastor and executive director of Friendship House, they are also updating the building’s plumbing, as well as planning on installing blinds. This has all been in planning since the end of last year, and was made possible thanks to many donors. William Young of Engineered Flooring and Billy Lillis of Carpet World were responsible for providing and installing the new carpet, while Bryan Parker of Parker Paint and Troy Sweat Painting handled the painting.
“I’m grateful to the community for their continued support of Friendship Ministries,” Adamson said. “We were glad to see the community come out, we enjoyed their presence.”
