In honor of its opening anniversary, 229 Gifts held a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday afternoon. A branch of the Bainbridge Pharmacy’s gift shop, the store is run by Renee Fisher. The shop does not carry all the options that Bainbridge Pharmacy does, but does boast several exclusive items.
“Some have asked, why now? Well, we opened, and we were slammed, and then came summer
and it’s too hot, so we chose now,” Fisher explained in a social media announcement. In addition to various brand products, the boutique also offers services like make-up lessons and closet organization.
Mayor Edward Reynolds attended the event; Fisher and Reynolds began working together in 2020, eventually coming up with the idea to open a pop-up shop downtown.
“We appreciate our familiar faces and we are grateful that we meet new faces every day!” Fisher’s statement concluded.
229 Gifts is located at 116 N Broad Street, next door to Curl Up & Dye.
