Wayman Brock was born September 8, 1942, in Climax, GA, the son of Albert & Hortense Brock. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1960, and Massey Business College. Wayman married Charlotte Inlow in 1961, and they made their home in Decatur County. He retired as plant manager for Golden Peanut, decided to give them a few more years, then spent several years working at Home Depot. Wayman was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Wayman was an outspoken man who lived out his convictions. He didn’t mind sharing his thoughts and usually didn’t change his mind regardless of your argument. Generous to a fault and always willing to help those less fortunate, Wayman was a magnet for those in need. They seemed to just know he was there to help and gravitated to him. He was a legend on Lake Seminole, knew all the “honey holes”, and loved every minute he was fishing. Wayman remembered his friends, especially his best friend and brother, Aubrey, and relished in telling the stories of days gone by.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Inlow Brock; his children A. Derrick Brock (Debra) of Bainbridge and Michelle Bell (Terry) of Brinson; his grandchildren, Durran & Amanda, Katelyn & Caleb, Mary Anna & Kebo, Tina & Chris, Stacy & Curt, Jeremy, Jonathan & Elizabeth, and Alex & Lyndsey; his great-grandchildren, Valley, Brock, Josey, Morgan Louise, Libby Kate, Marianna, Ellie, Mayce, Jordan, Bryce, Eleanor, Oliver, Jacob, and Jett; and his sisters, Frances Read and Jean Brock. In addition to his parents, Wayman was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Ann Brock; and his siblings, Dewey Brock, Sr., Aubrey Brock, Onez Sawyer, and Rosalee Harrell.
