Gloria M. Talbert, age 83, passed away February 1, 2024, at her son’s home in Thomasville, Georgia.  Services for Mrs. Talbert will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, graveside at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, Georgia.  Father Justin Hogg will officiate.    

   Gloria M. Nix was born December 22, 1940 in Decatur County, Georgia, to Norwood Nix and Fannie Phillips Nix.  Gloria graduated from Climax School in Climax, Georgia and attended Polk Community College in Winter Haven, Florida  She enjoyed working at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia, retiring after working there over 18years.  Gloria loved children and felt blessed to spend time caring for her grandchildren.   Her husband, Robert Hilton Talbert, passed away in February 2012.  Gloria loved to watch the “oldies” on television.  A lady of deep faith, she never tired of reading the Bible.  She spent many hours meditating on the Word.  Gloria greeted everyone with a huge smile and that will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

    Gloria M. Nix Talbert is survived by her children, Frances Lois LeRoy and Richard Ray Bearden, Jr. (Tina), all of Thomasville; sister, Patricia Ann Harrison of  Columbus, Georgia; her grandchildren, Dustin Bearden, MaLynn Petty, Carrie Bell Bearden, Stacee Lynn Tyson, Joey Schieler, Jimmy Schieler, David Layton, Faith Edmonds, Christian Bearden, Princelia Reyes, Sandy Bell Reyes, and Juan Carlos Albarran; and great-grandchildren, Clare Petty, Flint Bearden, Braylee Petty, Lilly Petty, and Laken Bearden.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Vickie Raenell Bearden and Barbara Ann Roberge, and son-in-law, Jaye LeRoy.
