Robert Stanley Moore was born August 15, 1940, in Newton, GA, the son of Oscar & Alma Jean Griffin Moore. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Stan installed pools all over South Georgia until his retirement. He will be fondly remembered from the Music World days at Bainbridge Mall. Stan was Baptist by faith.
Often called “Kenny Rogers’s twin”, Stan dressed the part wearing starched shirts and cowboy boots with nary a hair out of place and always tanned skin. He enjoyed family gatherings and cooked every Sunday. Stan worked hard and played hard in his heyday. He enjoyed FSU football, fishing, dancing, and watching old westerns. Grilling, smoking, and scratch off tickets were his favorite pastimes in his latter years. Stan’s sketchpad became an outlet for his creativity; his pencil the tool to share memories he treasured.
Survivors include his daughter, Kym Moore; his siblings, Douglas Moore (Cathy) of Lake City, FL, Sherry Donalson of Blue Ridge, GA, Charles Moore of Bainbridge, Sue Whitaker of Leesburg, GA, Hilda Lashley of Blakely, GA, and Myra Turner of Bainbridge; his several nieces & nephews; and his granddog, Rosie. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Moore and Maxine Moore.
