Members of the United Way board were joined by members of the local AFJROTC over the weekend, working together for the United Way’s Day of Action. The local U.W. board has participated in the Day of Action since around 2012-2013, going out and helping the various agencies they support.
This year, the volunteers paid a visit to both the Friendship House and the Bainbridge soup kitchen at Bainbridge Church of God, painting the Friendship office’s deck and ramp with wood sealer, and helping organize the kitchen’s pantry and pack food boxes.
“We just appreciate everybody coming out and supporting the project,” United Way board member Fred Rudbeck said. “We support agencies that make a difference.”
