Last week’s rainy weather cleared just enough on Friday for Memorial Hospital to hold its annual Employee Picnic and Awards Ceremony. With food provided by Catering by J Lo and drinks donated by Pepsi, hospital employees were able to eat under the shade on new picnic tables built by the Bainbridge High School wood shop class and donated by First Port City Bank. A dunk tank was also present for the kids present.
Aside from the meal, the main event was this year’s employee awards. Dr. Jason Moye was named Physician of the Year, Whitney Freeman received the Julia C. Rogers Excellence in Service Award, and Gwen Gilbert received the Delores Eidson Excellence in Service in Long Term Care Award.
Multiple employees received awards for their years of service, from five years up. There were several who received recognition for decades of service. For 20 years of service, Kimberly Byrd, Loscella Foster, Betty Loyless, Mandy Thompson and Kim Willis were recognized.
For 25 years, Debra Eakin and Bonnie Screen were recognized.
For 30 years, Caryn Sams was recognized.
For 35 years of service, Gloria Butler, Pat Dean, Debra Harrell and Oleatha Kegler were recognized.
And for 45 years of service, Susan Haywood and Martha Tyre were recognized.
