The Bainbridge City Council met at City Hall on Friday morning to hold a specially called meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to confirm the appointment of Roy Oliver to the position of City Manager.
“As you know, we’ve been through a pretty extensive search,” Mayor Edward Reynolds said to those in attendance. “We’ve spent some time interviewing many candidates for our city manager position, and we’ve had the right guy under our nose the whole time.”
Oliver, formerly the Assistant City Manager, had been made the interim city manager earlier this year, following the resignation of former city manager Chris Hobby. The council voted to confirm Oliver as the new city manager.
Reynolds addressed Oliver after the vote, “We know you’ll do a great job for us, and we appreciate your willingness to serve.”
Oliver thanked Reynolds, saying, “I’m very grateful and honored to serve. I look forward to continue working with you guys and this great team of employees that we have, as we continue to move forward and serve the citizens of this community.”
