Mattie Sue Cleveland Smith, lovingly known as “Gaga”, transitioned peacefully in her sleep, to her eternal life with her Lord, early dawn on September 28, 2024, following a long and fulfilling life that began October 16, 1931. She was born to the late John Sam Cleveland and Martha Jane Cook Cleveland.

Sue loved her church community, as she was a dedicated Christian and a member of Delwood Baptist Church for the past 75 years. She lived in service of the Lord, being an active member, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and participating in every aspect with the church’s activities, as long as her body allowed.

Sue lost her husband, John, when she was 39 years old. Realizing that she had a farm to run with three boys, she was determined to preserve her homestead. She made everything work and spent many years in the school system where she made countless friends she loved dearly.
