Saturday morning, Nightfall Books held a book signing for Gina R. Briggs, a local author who currently resides in Tallahassee. Briggs is a self-taught writer who writes in various genres. Briggs found and fell in love with Bainbridge through The Little Theatre where she partook in the “Steel Magnolias” play. She came back to Bainbridge for a book signing when she realized that Nightfall Books was here. “I saw it on Instagram that it opened up and I was like ‘I got to do a signing here; It looks so cute.’
Briggs came with her husband Matthew Briggs during the event. They introduced two children’s books called “Forever in Bloom” and “How We Made Love Bloom.” “Forever in Bloom” symbolizes Briggs’ experience with miscarriage by honoring angel babies from the perspective of rainbow babies. “How We Made Love Bloom” explains the Briggs’ family adoption tale. Briggs also introduced a young-adult book called “The Isa Project”, a coming-of-age mystery story. As an author, Briggs uses a direct quote from a famous author to sum up her mentality on writing. She uses a quote by C.S Lewis that states “We read to know we are not alone.”
Briggs’ press is named Poppy and Rose which is named after her two daughters. Briggs also has a new book coming out Spring 2025 called “Porch Light On.” So if you want to know more about Briggs and her books, follow her on social media or go to her website at https://www.ginarbriggswrites.com/.
