• St. Joseph Catholic Church—The church, located 1207 Randolph St., will continue its Christmas in July sale in the Church Hall on Saturday, July 9, featuring treasures, baked goods and Latin foods. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds go to support religious education for the children.

• First African Baptist Church—The church, located 115 Church St. in West Bainbridge, will have a celebration on Saturday, July 9, at 6 p.m. honoring the Rev. and Mrs. J.C. Jackson for 43 years service as pastor of the congregation. Rev. Jackson is retiring his pastorate.

• Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church—The church, located 849 Martin Luther King Drive, will observe its 31st anniversary on Saturday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m. with Minister Delois Parker as guest speaker. Music will be provided by St. Calvary Choir.

• Beulah Thomas Church—The church, located 456 Woodhull Road, will have a church homecoming Sunday, July 10, at 11 a.m. with special music, services and covered dish dinner.

• St. Thomas M.B. Church—The church, located 198 Edward Road in Fowlstown, will observe Women’s Day on Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m. Guest minister is the Rev. David Johnson, and the Union Baptist M.B. Church will present the program “Women on the rise for Christ.”

• Jesus Christ Deliverance Church—The church, located 836 Moore St., will observe pastor appreciation days beginning on Monday, July 11, and continuing through the week to Saturday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m., and at 12 noon on Sunday, July 17.

• New Harvest Outreach Ministries—The church, located 400 Miller Ave., will host the 2011 Men’s Conference July 13-15 at 7 p.m. nightly on the theme of “Men Chosen by God.” Speakers will be Bishop Joe Burns, Pastor Douglas Chason Jr., Pastor William Cason and Minister Joseph Davis.

• Dry Spring A.M.E. Church—The church, located in Climax, will host the St. Thomas No. 37 Order of Eastern Star on Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. The program will be “Shade of the Rainbow” presented by guest speaker the Rev. Willie Smiley. Music will be from The Last Chance Male Choir.

• Bethel A.M.E. Church—The church, located 204 N. Griffin Ave., Attapulgus, will observe missionary day on Sunday, July 17, at 3 p.m. The theme is “Embassy of Heaven, Women of the Bible,” who will be portrayed by women of the congregation.

• Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church—The church, located 1810 S. West St., will host a week of Revival beginning Monday, July 18, and continuing to Friday, July 22, at 7:30 nightly. Guest speaker will be Bishop Frederick Williams of Gethsemane Worship Center, Albany.

• Second Elizabeth M.B. Church—The church, located 2717 Attapulgus Hwy., is planning an evening of Gospel singing and preaching, called a Pre-back-to-school Gospel Explosion, on Friday, July 22, at 7 p.m. The Rev. James Youmas will be the speaker.

• Second Morning Star M.B. Church—The church, located 140 Engelhard Road, Attapulgus, will convene a Women’s Ministry Conference July 22-24. Event speakers will be July 22, Minister Nicole Larkin of Valdosta; July 23, Minister Dee Jackson of Quincy, and July 24, Minister Janice Harris of Quincy. Friday and Saturday are at 6 p.m. and Sunday is at 11 a.m.

• Mount Olive A.M.E. Church—The church, located on Highway 309 in Attapulgus, will have a family and friend celebration on Sunday, July 31, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. John Gardner, pastor of Second Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church of Quincy. Refreshments will be served.

• Disciples of Jesus “Life Changing Ministries”—The church, located 1630 Bethel Road, will observe ushers anniversary with guest speakers. On Thursday, Aug. 4, Pastor Eric Collins of Macedonia Baptist Church; Friday, Aug. 5, Pastor William Cason of New Harvest Church in Pelham, and Saturday, Aug. 6, Evangelist Mildred Bundage, St. James Baptist Church, Pensacola. Service times are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and on Saturday, at 11:30 a.m.

• Women Breaking the Silence Conference 2011—Led by Apostle Jacquelyn Porter, the conference will take place nightly at 4801 Woodland Circle in Tallahassee on Aug. 4-8 at 7 p.m. nightly on the theme, “I’ve been provoked to produce.”
