Clouds settling over the city
Published 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2009
Cloud cover settles over the city and the Decatur County Courthouse in Bainbridge on a January 2009 afternoon. The courthouse was built in 1902. The architect, Alexander Blair of Macon, Ga., also designed courthouses in Montgomery, Murray, Turner and Wilkinson Counties. The design of the building is said to represent the transition between Victorian and Classicism with Neoclassical Revival portico and ornament and Victorian asymmetry. The clouds are announcing the arrival of colder weather, when the lows are expected to dip into the mid to upper 20s on Friday and Saturday.
