Fitness For Life a success

Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Certified Fitness Director Liv Warren recently did a 12-week program for people who previously participated in the Memorial Hospital and YMCA Team Lean programs.
“The hospital and YMCA did not have Team Lean this year and some people who were in it just wanted to be held accountable,” Warren said. “I started a 12-week program for them that I called Fitness For Life.”
The top three percentage of weight losers were Kathy Fowler, Paul Digby and Margo Brenton.
Ms. Brenton weighed 260 pounds when she began Team Lean in 2008, and following the Fit For Life Program she is down to 185 pounds.
Warren explained that Fitness For Life participants weighed in each Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. and they paid $1 at each weigh-in. She said they had to pay an additional $1 for each pound they gained.
All monies were given back out to the three who lost the most percentage of weight.
Each Tuesday night the participants met to go over different topics of interest such as diet and nutrition. Tuesday meetings concluded with a stretching session.
They also had a class for flexibility and worked out on the Nautilus.
“We mainly were there for each other,” Warren said in rapping up her comments. “I was very proud of the members who stuck with it. If anyone is interested in one on one training, they can contact me at 243-0508.”
