Funds in the amount of $14,582 have been made available to Decatur County for the purpose of supplementing and extending ongoing efforts to provide shelter, food, and supportive services for individuals who are without shelter or facing an imminent threat of homelessness.
A local board of individuals will meet later this month to discuss needs and the delivery of services in the local community. Organizations interested in applying for EF&S program funds must be private voluntary non-profits or units of government; have an accounting system; practice non-discrimination; have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs; and if they are a private voluntary organization, they must have a voluntary board.
Any qualifying organization interested in applying for these funds should call Denise Bell immediately at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, Inc. at (229) 985-3610. The application deadline is Wed., Aug. 17.
