Funeral services for Bonnie Ruth Mitchell Swanner, 81, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Friday, Oct. 9, in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Rev. Talmadge Worsley officiating.

Interment followed in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, Ga., with Dale Swanner, Ronnie Holley, Wayne Dozier, Ricky King, Tim Shamblin and Jody Ridlehoover serving as active pallbearers.

Born in Dellwood, Fla., on June 27, 1928, Mrs. Swanner died on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Swanner was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church where she was an active member and worked as a secretary. She enjoyed cooking and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Swanner; three brothers, Arthur Mitchell, Coy Mitchell and Wallace Mitchell; and two sisters, Ellen Hasty and Mildred Barfield.

Survivors include a son, Jim Swanner of Donalsonville; a daughter, Brenda Taw of Valdosta, Ga.; a sister, Armilla Richards of Donalsonville; a brother, Judson Mitchell of Marianna, Fla.; a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of funeral arrangements.
