Dorothy Woods

A funeral service for Dorothy “Dot” Myers Woods, 85, of Atlanta, formerly of Bainbridge, was held Saturday, Sept. 19, at Bainbridge First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Stephen L. Webb and Andrew C. Pearson Jr. officiating.
Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery.
Born Feb. 6, 1924, in Amherst, Va., Mrs. Woods died on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at her residence in Buckhead, Ga.
Mrs. Woods was valedictorian of Pleasant View High School, Class of 1941, in Pleasant View, Va. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. Ashby Woods Jr.; a brother, Hal Wilson Myers Jr.; and three sisters, Elizabeth Myers Coffey, Ann Ware Myers and Spot Myers Massie.
Survivors include three daughters, Belle Woods Saddler of Jasper, Ala., Elizabeth Woods LeBel of Blythewood, S.C., and Ellen Woods Demperio of Atlanta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
