A funeral service for Margaret Miller Worthington, 77, of Brinson will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., at Bethel Baptist Church with the Revs. Newton Cranford and Milton Harrison officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Eric Worthington, Stacey Worthington, John Strickland, Gary Phillips, Ricky Faircloth and Jack Henderson serving as active pallbearers.

Born Aug. 19, 1932, in Iron City, Ga., Mrs. Worthington died on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Worthington was a retired assistant lunchroom manager at John Johnson Elementary School and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Worthington.

Survivors include four sons, Ronald Worthington and Hal Worthington, both of Brinson, Kenneth Worthington and Ricky Worthington, both of Bainbridge; two daughters, Paula W. Sheffield of Bainbridge and Cathy W. Pope of Brinson; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
