A funeral mass for Jose Guadalupe Granados, 23, of Camp Lejeune, N.C., formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Rudy Breunig officiating.
Interment will full military honors will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
Born Sept. 12, 1986, in Escondido, Calif., died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, in Greenville, N.C., after being struck by a motorcycle.
Mr. Granados was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 2005. He was a lance corporal in the U.S. Marines and had just completed a tour of duty in Iraq. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his parents, Agustin and Maria Soledad Granados of Bainbridge; four brothers, Jose Ceasar Granados of Escondido, Calif., Jose E. Granados, Miguel Angel Granados and Mauricio Granados, all of Bainbridge; four sisters, Angelica Granados and Beatrice Granados, both of Bainbridge, Maria Granados of Atlanta, Ga., and Mayra Granados Santiago of Jacksonville, N.C.; his paternal grandfather, Urbano Granados of Mexico; his paternal grandmother, Regina Perez of Mexico; his maternal grandfather, Pedro Alcantar of Mexico; and his maternal grandmother, Clara Amesquita of Mexico.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
