Funeral services for Alvin Bernard Clark, 48, of Iron City, Ga., will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. with Kevin Harrell speaking.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 to 10:55 a.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel.

Born on Nov. 12, 1960, Mr. Clark died on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009.

Mr. Clark grew up on a farm in the Friendship Community north of Opp, Ala. He was the youngest of five children and was affectionately known as “Big Al” or “Boo” by his family. He graduated from Opp High School, Opp, Ala., in 1979. During his lifetime, he worked on crew boats in the Gulf of Mexico; at Shaw Industries in both Alabama and Georgia; drove a big rig truck; and most recently worked as a fabricator at Bee Trailers/Harrell Incorporated in Georgia.

In May of 2000, he and the love of his life, Lisa Miller Robinson were married. They settled into her childhood home in Iron City, Ga. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2009. He spent the spring and summer of 2009 with family and friends enjoying one of his favorite pastimes—fishing.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Frances Bodie Clark; and his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Miller Clark; step-children, Macon and Tessa Robinson of Iron City, and Stevie Robinson of Bainbridge; his father, James T. “Bud” Clark of Opp, Ala.; brothers Jerry Clark and Glenn Clark, both of Opp; a sister, Kathy Messick of Woodbridge, Va.; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
