Funeral services for Mrs. Virgilene Bryant Goad, 69, of Bainbridge, were held Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Wendell Hollingsworth officiating.

Interment followed at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Wilkie Stavely, Cal Bryant, Eddie Gordon, Larry Bates, Rudy McKenzie, Kenny Stavely and Lamar Cutts serving as active pallbearers.

Born April 20, 1940, in Climax, Mrs. Goad died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Goad graduated from Climax High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and the Young at Hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence G. Goad.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra S. Metcalf and Kathy S. Howell, both of Bainbridge; her son, Bryant Fagan of Bainbridge; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
