Funeral services for Laura Pearl Jackson, 87, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, June 27, at Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Thomas Sr. officiating.
Interment followed at Mount Tabor Cemetery with friends of the family serving as active pallbearers.
Born Dec. 17, 1921, in Brinson, Mrs. Jackson died on June 22, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and also worked at United Plastics for 23 years. She joined Swanwall M.B. Church at an early age and later joined Adams Chapel M.B. Church, where she was actively involved. She attended Decatur County schools.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Jackson; and two daughters, Edna Snipes and Martha Keaton.
Survivors include her four sons, Charles Jackson and Daniel Jackson, both of Harrisburg, Pa., Noble Jackson Jr. and Michael Jackson, both of Bainbridge; two daughters, Betty Nix of Climax and Joyce Hurst of Camilla, Ga.; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
