Funeral services for Homer H. Harrell Sr., 87, of Bainbridge, will be held Thursday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at West Bainbridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Joe Baxter and Danny VunCannon officiating.
Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born Oct. 6, 1921, in Donalsonville, Ga., to John Hudson Harrison Harrell and Elizabeth Jean Pope Harrell, Mr. Harrell died on Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Collins, Miss.
Mr. Harrell was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4904 and American Legion Post 62.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Baxter Harrell.
Survivors include his son, Homer H. Harrell Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Bainbridge; his daughter, Mary Donna Stokley and her husband, Leroy, of Ellisville, Miss.; five grandchildren, Brent Johnson, Kimberly Harrison, Brad Johnson, Beau Harrell and Misty Lee Stokley Smith; and four great-granddaughters, Taylor Harrison, Conner Harrison, Sydney Johnson and Kailey Johnson.
