Funeral services for Evelyn Jones Temples, 74, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Sunday, June 14, at Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Donalsonville with Gary Smith officiating.
Interment followed at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville.
Born Oct. 11, 1934, in Russell County, Ala., Mrs. Temples died on Friday, June 12, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Temples was a member of Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church; she was also a homemaker and will be remembered by many as working in the school lunchroom. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Buddy Jones; and two sisters, Louise Evans and Margie Temples.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Temples; a son, Paul Temples of Bainbridge; four daughters, Chris Pongerayter of Northport, Ala.; Kattie Rogers and Lannie Grant, both of Donalsonville, and Rebecca Thomas of Bainbridge; three brothers, Robert Jones, Cecil Jones and Joseph Jones, all of Atlanta, Ga.; seven sisters, Nellie Allison of Atlanta, Ga., Pauline Kirkland of Bainbridge, Francis Page of Dothan, Ala., Virginia Farnum of Sugar Hill, Ga., Betty Jean Fogle of Indiana, Alma Albercombe of Conyers, Ga., and Martha Enfinger of Blakely, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga., was in charge of funeral arrangements.
