James Wells

Funeral services for James Hubert Wells, 85, of Quitman, Ga., were held Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Quitman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating.
Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Ga.
Born in Decatur County, Mr. Wells died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at the his residence after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Wells was formerly the principal of Brooks County High School, was a retired school superintendent for the Brooks County school system and also worked as an administrator for several other South Georgia schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Groover Wells of Quitman; a daughter, Susan Wells Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, Jim H. Wells of Sylvania, Ga.; a brother, Clifford Wells of Climax; and five grandchildren.
Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home of Quitman, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
