Tony Butler

Funeral services for Tony “Take” Darryl Butler, 45, of Decatur County, were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Mount Hosea Missionary Baptist Church in Quincy, Fla., with the Rev. Eddie York officiating.
Interment followed in the church’s cemetery. Active pallbearers were Butler’s friends and former colleagues at Delta Tire Company, Bernard Cumbie, Dewayne Gurley, Bud Jenkins, Rudy Nichols, Daryl Porter and Bo Smith.
Born March 21, 1963, in Decatur County, Mr. Butler died on Feb. 7, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. He worked at Delta Tire Company for 18 years.
Butler was preceded in death by three sisters, Elmaree, Shirley and Mary, and a brother, Charles.
Survivors include his mother, Elma Pugh Butler; two sons, Antonio Washington and Patrick Ward; three daughters, Nazlee Butler of Dothan, Ala., Deneisha Butler of Quincy, Fla., and Shabreka Butler of Bainbridge; five brothers, Andrew Butler Sr. of Quincy, Fla., Walter Butler and Tony’s twin brother, Jerry Butler, both of Bainbridge, Donald Butler of Jacksonville, Fla., Napoleon Butler Sr. of Albany, Ga.; three sisters: Alphenia Butler and Lois Blackstone, both of Bainbridge, and Edna Walker of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren; a special friend, Lisa Jackson; and a host of other family and friends.
Bruton Mortuary in Bainbridge was in charge of arrangements.
