Funeral services for Jack Donald Clark, 81, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be today, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church with Dr. Edwin Willis and the Rev. Richard Trawick officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Mount Hebron Methodist Church in Newton, Ala., with Ben McWaters, Bart McWaters, Matthew King, Michael Knowles, Robin Clark and Mark Traylor serving as active pallbearers.
Born in Geneva County, Ala., on July 24, 1927, he attended school in Rehobeth, Ala., and served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-48 aboard the USS Serrano in World War II. The USS Serrano participated in the Bikinni Atoll test in 1946.
Mr. Clark was co-owner of Argus Services Inc. in Panama City, Fla., and owner of Seminole Sanitation Services Inc. of Donalsonville, Camilla and Bainbridge. He retired to raising Santa Gertrudis Cattle in 1996 and was a member of the Santa Gertrudis International Breeders Association.
He was a member of Reynolds Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a charter member of the Methodist Men group. He has been a former member of the Lake Seminole Lions Club. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacquelyn Clark; two granddaughters, Jacquelyn McWaters and Megan Glover; a brother, Robert Clark, and a sister, Joyce Clark Blalock.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Bonnie Faye Peacock Clark of Donalsonville; a son, Donald P. Clark of Midland, Ala.; five daughters, Kay Lane of Beaumont, Texas, Susan Crawford and Kathy Ann Glover, both of Dothan, Ala., Vicki Welch Combs of Camilla, Ga., and Kathy Welch King of Slocomb, Ala.; a brother, Gene Clark of Dothan, Ala.; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, eight nephews and nieces, and special friend to the family, Celia Hawkins.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of services.
