Funeral service for Betty Louise Strickland, 76, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Newton Cranford, Stanley Phillips and Carl Marshall officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.

Born on Dec. 1, 1932, in Decatur County, Mrs. Strickland died Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Strickland was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Alto Strickland, and her brother, Thomas Parnell.

Survivors include three sons, Edward A. “Bo” Strickland Jr. and John N. Strickland, both of Bainbridge, and Robert M. Strickland of Colquitt, Ga.; four daughters, Susan Lane of Donalsonville, Ga., Darline West of Albany, Ga., Betty Jane Johnson of Bainbridge and Katie Decker of Beaver Dam, Ky.; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
