Ralph NeSmith

Funeral services for Ralph Turner NeSmith, 76, of Blakely, Ga., were held Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, with the Rev. Tommy Long and Dr. Charles Devane officiating.
Internment followed at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell County.
NeSmith was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Mitchell County, Ga., to the late Ben Hill and Mary Bulloch NeSmith. He died on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Early Memorial Hospital in Blakely. A resident of Blakely for the past 37 years, he was a retired consultant for Birdsong Peanut Company and a member of First Baptist Church in Blakely.
Nesmith was preceded in death by a sister, Louise N. Gilstrap; three brothers, Robert NeSmith Sr., Ben Hill NeSmith Jr., and Richard NeSmith; and a son, Malone NeSmith.
Survivors include one sister, Linda Long and her husband, the Rev. Tommy Long of Bainbridge; and a daughter, Michele NeSmith of Atlanta, Ga.
Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely was in charge of arrangements.
