Alto Prince

Funeral services for Alto H. “Toby” Prince, 89, of the Faceville Community near Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with Pastor H. Haskell White and the Rev. Joe Hodges officiating.

Interment will follow at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery with Eddie Prince, Charles Prince, Terry Prince, Ronnie Tuggle, Dr. James E. Sellers and Larry Sellers serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Prince was born in Decatur County, Ga., and died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Cairo High School and a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a lieutenant. He was a glider pilot during the Normandy invasion, the Battle of the Rhine and also served in other parts of France and Italy.

He was a member of Celebration Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, H. Reneé Prince.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Tuggle Prince of Faceville, Ga.; his sons, Rodney A. Prince and Ricky H. Prince, both of Faceville; his brother, Arthur Prince of Atlanta, Ga., and a grandson.
