Georgia DOT maintenance crews will close the right southbound lane of U.S. 27 South between mile marker 9 and 10 next week. The lane will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, beginning Monday, Aug. 16 and ending Thursday, Aug. 19. These temporary closures are necessary to facilitate minor repairs to the roadway. This is a work zone and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
