Need to heed disaster

It is surprising to me that folks in Bainbridge and Decatur County are ignoring the coal burning power plant that will be located on the Chattahoochee River in Early County.
The pollution from the plant will impact the headwaters of Spring Creek and that’s under optimum conditions. The Deepwater Horizon disaster should be a reminder that there will always be problems.
Several years ago my wife and I moved from Bainbridge to Walton County, Fla. We live near the Gulf of Mexico and our area so far has dodged a bullet. Decatur County might not be so lucky.
The oil industry touted job creation just like the boosters of the power plant. The pollution will outweigh the benefits. If you don’t believe me then look at the coast of Louisiana.
