Two armed robberies have been reported to Bainbridge Public Safety within the past few days.
At about 10:45 p.m. Saturday night, residents of an apartment at 1500 Bethel Road in West Bainbridge reported that a masked man came into their apartment and fired gunshots, according to a BPS incident report.
The victim stated he was going to shut the apartment’s back door — which had been open — when a black male, dressed in all black, wearing a black ski mask, stepped inside and pointed a small black handgun at his face. As the victim turned to run, the robber chased after him and fired multiple gun shots. The robber then turned around and ran out the back door.
Another adult, as well as two children, were also in the residence at the time, though no one was hurt.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including a Seminole County Sheriff’s deputy with a search dog, responded to the scene and searched the area. Officers found some footprints, as well as a small black glove lying next to a fence the suspect may have jumped over.
Anyone with more information is asked to call BPS investigators at (229) 248-2044.
Robbery foiled
Just after 12 a.m. Tuesday, a resident of 1609 Hall St. reported that a man with a loaded .410 shotgun broke into his house and attempted to rob him.
The resident and his friends allegedly beat up the suspect, took away the shotgun and restrained him until police arrived. Officers observed large cuts and bruises on the suspect’s head and legs.
The robbery suspect was identified as Nathan Fluitt, 39, of Newark, N.J. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery.
Also arrested and charged with armed robbery was Antonio Levon Jones, 39, 223 N. Main St., Attapulgus, whom police believe may have brought Fluitt to the house in a car.
