Funeral services for Monte Sales, 88, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, July 17, at the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dellise Cox officiating.
Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with members of Oak City Lodge No. 74 serving as active pallbearers.
Born March 20, 1922, in Fulton County, Ga., Mr. Sales died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Ga.
Mr. Sales was an active member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to decline. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hawaiian Sales Sr. and Lester Sales; a sister, Mary Sales Murray, and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bernice Sales; three sons, William Sales of Boston, Ga., Jerome Sales of Elizabeth, N.J., and Larry Sales of Bainbridge; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; special devoted nieces of Buena Vista, Ga.; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his church family.
Guyton Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
