Funeral services for Melvin Earl Hand, 43, of Bainbridge, will be held on Thursday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at Solid Rock Church.
Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Curt Hatcher, Stacy Strickland, Peanut Johnson, Johnny Hand, Robbie Mullis and Chuck Matthews serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 27, 1966, in Chattahoochee, Fla., Mr. Hand died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Hand was a maintenance mechanic for Stone’s Hardware and attended Solid Rock Church. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his son, Bryant Hand of Bainbridge; his parents, Willie and Mattie Hand of Bainbridge; his brothers, Myers Junior Hand and Randy Hand, both of Bainbridge; his maternal grandmother Allie Mae Baxter of Bainbridge; as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces, other family and friends.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
