Funeral services for infant Riley Harold Dean, of Jakin, Ga., were held Friday, July 2, at Jakin Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Sheffield and Randy Dean officiating.

Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with Amos Sheffield, Andrew Sheffield and Fred Rice serving as active pallbearers.

Born June 20, 2010, in Birmingham, Ala., baby Riley died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

Survivors include his parents, Joshua and Kydie Sheffield Dean; a brother, Landen Dean of Jakin; his maternal grandparents, the Rev. Wayne and Shirley Sheffield of Colquitt, Ga.; his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Randy and Pam Dean of Ashford, Ala.; paternal great-grandmothers, Peggy Ming of Dothan, Ala., and Janice Dean of Ashford; as well as his uncles, aunts and cousins.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
