Funeral services for Effie Turnage, 88, of Bainbridge, will be Saturday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Conrad Salter officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery
Born Dec. 1, 1921, in Quincy, Fla., Mrs. Turnage died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
She was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She lived in Decatur County most of her life. During her early years, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants in Bainbridge, including the Busy Bee Cafe’, The Plaza Cafe’, The Eagle Cafe’ and The Alamo Cafe’.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gordon Turnage; four sisters, Essie Mae Love, Sarah Agnes Kennedy, Macy Roberts and Margaret Whitehead, and one brother, Benjamin Z. Roberts.
She is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
