Frances Ward

A funeral service for Frances W. Ward, 86, of Bainbridge, will be held Sunday, June 6, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with Dr. Austin L. Phillips and the Rev. Paul Medley officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Bobby Jarrett, Jonathan Gwinn, Mike Moran, Len Liggin, Jody Grollman and Joe Putnal serving as active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held a half-hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday, June 6, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 4, 1924, in Monticello, Fla., Mrs. Ward died on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Bainbridge Healthcare.
Mrs. Ward was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of WMU, the Saints Alive Choir and the Fronnie McQuaig Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Southwest Georgia Hemerocallis Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and was past president of the Bainbridge Pilot Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ward.
Survivors include her daughters, Fran Bird of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Linda Maynard of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; her brothers, Fred Ward Jr. of Albany, Ga., and Charles Ward of Donalsonville, Ga.; her sisters, Sara Lou Duce of Austin, Texas, Jessie Parker of Springhill, Tenn., and Carolyn Phillips of Bainbridge; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
