Funeral services for Katherine “Kay” Ellen Schafer Wilson, 86, of Appleton, Wis., will be held Tuesday, May 18, at noon at Wichmann-Fargo Funeral Home in Appleton, Wis.

Born March 28, 1924, in Henry, Ill., Mrs. Wilson died at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, Wis., on Thursday, May 13, 2010.

Mrs. Wilson was a caregiver to the elderly for most of her life. She enjoyed collecting and organizing things.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-brother, Edward Francis Schmidt; and a half-sister, Cecelia Ann Schmidt.

Survivors include three sons, Roger E. Wilson of Climax, Alan L. Wilson of Menasha, Wis., and Rodney G. Wilson of Appleton, Wis.; a brother Harold Joseph Schafer of Waupaca, Wis.; a half-sister, Dorothy Jeanne Schmidt Eckhoff of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
