Poitevint named director of capital markets

Southwest Georgia Farm Credit has named Paxton Poitevint to the position of director of capital markets.
Poitevint formally served the association as director of special assets management. In his new role, Poitevintwill be responsible for purchased and sold loan participations, corporate lending and development, and mission-related investments.
“Paxton will have the opportunity to use his varied skills to serve our customers and develop important relationships for the association,” said Richard S. Monson, chief executive officer of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. “He will be able to use his analytical and managerial qualifications to help our organization meet our strategic objectives.”
Poitevint has been a member of the Farm Credit team since 2005, when he joined the association as the director of marketing.
Later, he served as director of mission-related Investments, where he was responsible for originating, negotiating and administering a rural community finance program and guaranteed loan purchase program with community banks.
As director of special assets management, Poitevint was responsible for reducing adverse assets.
Poitevint is a graduate of the University of Georgia and earned an MBA at Georgia State University. He and his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, reside in Decatur County.
