The funeral service for Hazel Williams Copeland, 90, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny VunCannon officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Brad Dollar, Dennis Dollar, Danny Dollar, Tommie Howell, Gene Williams, Gayland Williams, DeWayne Williams, Eddie Williams, Stanley Williams and Phillip Williams serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Copeland was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Brinson, the daughter of Harry Bradford Williams and Rosa Nell Brown Williams. She passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Bainbridge Health Care.
She was a graduate of Brinson High School, Class of 1939, and was a retired bookkeeper from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company. She was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 62 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Decatur County Genealogical Society.
Survivors include her son, Darrell Copeland and his wife, Susan, of Bainbridge; her brothers, Cecil Williams of Bainbridge, and Joe Williams of Roswell, Ga.; her sister, Helen W. Burke of Bainbridge; her grandchildren Brandi L. Kamp and her husband, Matthew, of Cumming, Ga. and Pamela A. Earp and her husband, Jamie, of Brinson; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Earp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis L. Copeland, and her brother, Harry Williams.
