The Decatur County Board of Commissioners approved the naming of the county’s newest road, at Tuesday’s regular board meeting.

County Administrator Tom Patton said there is a short road currently being built on the site of the new agriculture office building, which is being constructed off Vada Road. He said Tuesday that federal regulations require that the road have a name, because it will be used for addressing and mapping purposes.

Patton said that employees in the Farm Service Agency, National Resource Conversation Service and county extension were asked what they would like the name of the road to be. These agencies will be housed in the building when it is completed in Feburary 2012.
