1st Lt. Knight promoted

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Shawn Knight, formerly of Bainbridge and an active duty member since 1994, graduated from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. Knight endured the intense two-year curriculum and was rewarded for his efforts in a ceremony held at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida where he was presented with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Additionally, he was granted an active duty commission with a promotion to first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Biomedical Science Corps. His new rank was pinned on by his parents, Tom Knight and Sheila Lane, and his wife, Mary Ellen Knight, at a ceremony held Sept. 2. First Lt. Knight will begin his new career as a family health specialist at Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina, where he will serve with his wife and son, Christian.
