Pet owners are reminded to dress up their dogs, cats and any other tame animal that will allow it, and bring them to the Eighth Annual Pet Costume Contest in Willis Park this Saturday, Oct. 23. The contest begins at 9 a.m., and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. All that is required for admission is a can of dog or cat food. The event is sponsored by the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society each year. Judging will be done in groups designated by the age of the owner or handler—not the age of the animal—in three categories: Children, teens and adults. Prizes will be awarded for the cutest and for the most original. Pam Immendorf said in the past the event has attracted pets of all ages and sizes, with occasional entries featuring a group dressed with a theme.
