Funeral services for Adelle Merritt Phillips, 84, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Monday, Oct. 25, at First Church of the Nazarene in Donalsonville with the Revs. Eric Boomer and Steve Hood officiating.
Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Glen Deese, Scott Hartzog, Durall Pitts, Ronnie Adams, Edward Whittaker and Stevie Adams acting as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the men of First Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Malone, Fla., on Nov. 13, 1925, and died Oct. 23, 2010, at her residence. She was a homemaker, an active member of First Church of the Nazarene and will be remembered as working at Dismuke’s clothing store in Donalsonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dawsie and Mary Grice Merritt, and her husband, Odalee Phillips.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Farnsworth of Marietta, Ga., and Linda Whisenant of Plains, Ga., three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
