Mary Alice Herring

A graveside service for Mary Alice Godwin Herring, 77, of Bainbridge, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Attapulgus Cemetery with the Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating.
Born Feb. 22, 1933, in the Amsterdam community in southern Decatur County, Mrs. Herring died on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home in Bainbridge.
Mrs. Herring was the daughter of Albert Henry Godwin and Alice Dora Bennett Godwin. She was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1950. She worked as a shop clerk with Miller Hydro and also as a seamstress with Jack Winter Inc. Mrs. Herring was a member of Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Henderson Herring, and her sons, Mickey Dale Weaver and Jerry Allen Weaver.
Survivors include her daughters, Dora Fleming and her husband, Edward, of Fayetteville, Ga., Pat Brooks and her husband, Billy, of Crawfordville, Fla., and Miriam Mitchell and her husband, Mike, of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
