Funeral services for Cecil Edward Barber, 61, of LaGrange, Ga. were held Monday, Nov. 15, at Hunter-Allen-Myland Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Interment followed at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Barber was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Bainbridge, son of the late Malory Curtis Barber and Virginia “Honey” Nichols Davis. He died Nov. 13, 2010, at West Georgia Health.
He worked as a longtime manager of Freudenberg-NOK, and was of the Baptist faith. He attended Troy University and was on their 1968 national championship football team. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, loved his children, grandchildren and dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Hogg Barber; children and their spouses, Anna and Joey Latulippe of LaGrange, Monica Barber of Albany, Ga., Chris Barber of Atlanta, Ga., Kelly and Carlos Carreras of Atlanta, Brandy Hines and Alex McGrady of LaGrange, and Cody and Shelley Neighbors of LaGrange; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cecelia and Donnie Ray Miller of Reynoldsville, Ga., and Shea and Barry Smith of North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Wayne and Cheryl Barber of Reynoldsville, and Curtis and Jan Barber of Virginia; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
