A graveside service for Mary Lee Cheshire McKeller, 93, of Athens, Ga., and formerly of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating.
Mrs. McKeller was born Sept. 25, 1917, in Houston County, Ala., and died Nov. 14, 2010, at Heritage Nursing Home in Athens.
She lived the majority of her adult life in Donalsonville. Her final years were spent in Athens.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, writing poetry, music and going to church. She was a member of the Donalsonville First Baptist Church. She loved her heavenly Father, her family, and last but not least, she loved her faithful dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Faulene McKeller; her parents, Daniel Porter and Ressie Julia Hawkins Cheshire; a granddaughter, Shannon Michele McKeller; a brother, Leamon Porter Cheshire; sisters, Flora Hardy, Sybil (Sunny) Grace Edwards, Ella Ruth Taylor Granberry and Martha Alene Adams.
She is survived by daughter, Dorothy Faye McKeller Ard of Valdosta, Ga.; three sons, Billy Ray McKeller of Athens, Robert Eugene McKeller of Jacksonville, Fla., and Daniel Larry McKeller of Dadeville, Ala.; brothers, Edsal Donnel Cheshire of Bishop Calif.; Billy Mack (Maxie) Cheshire of Dothan, Ala.; a sister, Bonnie Inez Allen of Lynn Haven, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
