Global Maximus Records recently announced that country music recording artists “BadHorse” will be among the acts performing at the upcoming 2011 NFL Alumni “Player of the Year” awards show.
The ceremonies were scheduled for a “live” taping Friday, Feb. 3, in Indianapolis, Ind. The group was scheduled to perform two songs. The actual broadcast of the show will be Monday, Feb. 6, at 10 p.m. on the NFL Network.
The band features Robert “Bobby” E. Walden III, a Bainbridge native who now lives in Newnan, Ga. He played football and baseball for Bainbridge High School and was the quarterback in 1982 when the Bearcats won the state championship. He went to Auburn University to play both sports, but a football injury there ended his career and he decided to pursue music.
“There are so many talented country music artists from the state of Georgia and we are glad to be among those other Georgia-based artists who are a part of the Nashville scene,” Walden said, in a press release. “This is a great honor to be a part of one of the first alumni award shows, which will be hosted by Alec Baldwin.”
BadHorse’s single “I Still Love Them,” is currently at No. 5 on the inspirational country music charts, Walden said.
Walden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Walden Sr. of Bainbridge.
