Services for William M. Rash, 67, of Attapulgus, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Attapulgus, with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor Jerry Bishop, Pastor Mark Folsom and Mr. Nathaniel Rash will officiate.
Mr. Rash was born in Colquitt, Ga., on Nov. 11, 1944, to the late Toyce and Willie Lloyd Rash. He died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at his home in Attapulgus.
On Dec. 12, 1969, he married Barbara Mitchell, who survives. William served in the Army Reserves and worked with the maintenance department of Engelhard in Attapulgus. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Rash was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother, Marvet Rash.
He is survived by: his wife, Barbara S. Rash of Attapulgus; daughter, Billie R. Szudlo (Frank) of Asheville, N.C.; sons, William Rash (Davina) of Goldsboro, N.C., Jeffrey Rash of Attapulgus; grandchildren, Nathaniel Rash and Haley Templeton of Dothan, Ala., Christopher Moore (Kristen) of Charlotte, N.C., Ashtyn Szudlo of Charlotte, N.C., Tyler and Connor Rash of Goldsboro; great-grandchild, Braylen Moore of Charlotte; brother, Cecil Rash of Cairo, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to: Hospice of SW Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
